Black Friday Special: Limited Time Re-Opening
The Bad Dog Agility Approach to SUCCESS at Your Next Trial
Join the 2018 Nationals Prep Course
Every year, more and more competitors are taking our prep courses, getting personalized feedback on their practices, and making their way into the Finals of national level events like the American Kennel Club (AKC) National Agility Championship.
In this prep course, we share with you our exact approach to trial preparation in an easy-to-understand way that won't leave you feeling overwhelmed or confused.
Keep in mind that not everyone who takes this course actually attends the AKC Nationals. For those handlers, past National events are the source of the sequences they run in training, and everything they learn helps them run better at their weekend trials.

I can’t imagine how unnerved I would have been . . .
This was my second year taking the NAC Prep Course, as well as my second year attending the AKC Nationals, and I can’t say enough good things about both experiences! As someone who’s prior experience had been pretty much limited to weekend AKC trials, I can’t imagine how unnerved I would have been had I not had the prep courses to help me prepare both for Reno and Tulsa. Although I am a ‘middle of the pack’ competitor running an ‘off breed’ dog (think Shetland pony vs. Thoroughbred), this year at the Nationals I even found myself hoping to see some of the tougher challenges covered in the Prep Course (which is definitely a good feeling!) Thanks so much Sarah and Esteban for once again offering this excellent course, and as they say: same time next year

this was so enlightening . . .
very beneficial to track (or map) the differences when running courses in various ways–this was so enlightening because often I was wrong in which way I would have chosen–always good to look at several ways and now I do

Meet the Team
Co-creator of Bad Dog Agility, Sarah Fernandezlopez has earned the AKC's Master Agility Championship with 4 different breeds over almost 20 years in the sport. A competitor, seminar presenter, and teacher of agility, Sarah will demonstrate various exercises with her border collie and explain key execution points with the Coach's Eye.
Co-creator of Bad Dog Agility, Esteban Fernandezlopez finished 3rd in the 20" Finals at the 2017 AKC National Agility Championship with Golden Retriever Gitchi, 0.76 seconds behind the winner and just 10 weeks after having puppies. Esteban and Gitchi also appeared in the Finals of both the 2016 AKC National Agility Championship and 2016 Masters Agility Championship at Westminster. In this course, Esteban will demonstrate exercises with his dogs and provide course map analysis for every round from last year's championship event.
Jennifer Crank has reached the Finals of the AKC National Agility Championship twenty times over the last 12 years. Over the past two years, Jennifer has also finished 2nd in the Finals of the Masters Agility Championship at Westminster, 3rd in the Finals of the AKC National Agility Championship, 2nd in the Finals of the USDAA Cynosport Grand Prix Championship, 1st place in the USDAA Cynosport Steeplechase Championship, and competed at both the FCI Agility World Championship and the European Open. In this course, Jennifer will demonstrate exercises with her dogs and explain key execution points with the Coach's Eye.
Sarah Baker won the highly competitive 20" Finals at the AKC National Agility Championship with her Border Collie Hops in both 2015 and 2016, joining a small group of elite handlers who have won the NAC in consecutive years. She also won the Preferred 20" class at the AKC National Agility Championship with her Labrador Retriever Rice. In this course, Sarah will demonstrate exercises with her dogs and explain key execution points with the Coach's Eye.
Brittany Schaezler competed at the AKC National Agility Championship with three small dogs — two of them made the Finals and the third ran in the Challenger round. She also finished 3rd in the Finals of the 2015 Masters Agility Championship. In this course, Brittany will provide "small dog" demonstrations.
Course Format
This course will help you and your dog excel in Reno by breaking down the actual courses from last year’s Nationals and creating practice exercises based on challenging sequences from those courses. Every week, beginning February 1st, we will release a round from the event.
- Round 1: Jumpers With Weaves
- Round 2: Standard
- Round 3: Hybrid
- Round 4: Challengers
- Round 5: Finals
Course Map Analysis
A finalist the past two years, Esteban will walk you through the course maps in the Coach’s Eye for all 3 rounds plus the Challengers Round and Finals from last year’s event. Understanding how judges design courses will help you quickly identify traps so that nothing will surprise you.
Small Space Exercises
Through video demonstrations and course analyses with the Coach’s Eye, we will advise you to handle the sequence in a variety of ways so you can decide which works best for you and your dog.
Nested Challenge Sequences
Expand your skills with an 8-10 obstacle challenge sequence using the same layout. The challenge sequences have been designed to help you prepare for more difficult challenges you might see at the event.
BONUS: Mental Preparation
Your mental preparation plays as much a part in your success as your handling and execution. Esteban will share the tips that have brought him success at the highest levels.
