Yay Thanks for the Challenge Option 1 discussion about how/why you did your lead-out!

  • Melanie Horn says:

Hi Jennifer! Here’s our try 😉

    Hi Jennifer!
The weather has not been playing ball!
This is the hardest front cross for us – I tend to drift and I think it will be a lifelong challenge for me! 😬

Hi Michelle! Since your sequences and the nested challenge were on the same link, I did the feedback together and posted them on the previous page. You can check it out there!

Here’s Sarah and the toy Aussies, the border collie was limping slightly so is taking a few days off. https://youtu.be/Wch-YDyIPBo

I am going to try it both ways, I should be able to see the difference in my dogs striding, correct? Doing it the way Jenn demonstrated it, I would expect my dog to add an extra stride and to collect ad a response to the landing side FC in order to make a perpendicular approach to the jump and go toward Jen’s number 3. The way its written on them map, to get to that side of the tunnel would involve a slice and my dog should jump it in extension and not add the extra stride. Am I understanding this correctly? Actually, I am glad for the error!

    • Jennifer Crank says:

Are you referring to the line 5-6? Depending on the dogs size/stride, yes, I would except to see different striding at #5 depending on which end of the tunnel I was asking for. A slice to the right end of the tunnel is much different than the bending effort that is required for the perpendicular landing to the left end of the tunnel. Will be a fun experiment to do both ends.

Here is my link to my attempts at Exercise 1, followed by the challenge sequence with my dog, Matrix. I got confused with the challenge tunnel entrances, as Jenn had done them differently from the map, and I ended up doing the right side for #3 (different from Jenn), and the left side for #6 (same as Jenn). Sorry it is so dark – late afternoon sun and shadows.

  • Verna says:

Thank-you for the very clear analysis Jennifer! One question-the course map has the tunnel entry for #3 on the right and #6 on the left. It seems you are running and explaining the handling for both #3 and #6 for an entry on the left. Am I misunderstanding what is happening with the tunnel?
