The goal of the game is to get the puppy to run out and get a treat on cue, then to have so much value for you that they go running back to you after eating the cookie. So I was restraining Skeptic, tossing a treat, releasing him to the treat, then calling him back into my lap and heavily rewarding to build value for me. To be honest I did not play much of this particular game.

With IYC, remember that part of it is teaching impulse control, but the other huge part is managing your dog’s environment so they are not self reinforcing and undoing your training.
