Sarah, thanks so much for adding the sections on OnForm. You answered nearly all of my questions. Really appreciate your walking us through it.
For the purpose of my question below, I’ll be using the OnForm app just for hopefully improving my personal training and trialing. I may occasionally share with a coach, but I would not be using it to coach someone else.
So, my question. I’m guessing you do not regularly record new video directly through the OnForm app in the way that many people would actually record video via the Coaches’ Eye app.
Is your practice still to record new video on your phone, airdrop it to (or pull it up on) your ipad to edit via iMovie, then use the OnForm app solely for the tools that it provides, then save it for future use on your camera roll or youtube. Right?
If I plan to try to keep the FREE version of OnForm, I probably would have no reason to use folders/files?
One last question, do you still think iMovie is the easiest editing tool for simple edits on short videos if using all Apple products?
Thanks again!!!
Susan
Yes – that is still my practice. Video using the native phone camera. Edit with imovie (and yes that’s still my go-to tool), then import into OnForm for analysis. Export and upload to vimeo for training videos. Feedback vidoes we do send the OnForm link because it saves us a step and a good chunk of time.
You would have no reason for folders, with the free app you can only have 10 files anyway so not much need for organization!
Thank you for being so prompt! Is there a reason you like vimeo as opposed to youtube?
I’m currently flummoxed by video storage. I’ve an iphone 12 Plus but have used up all of my icloud storage because of the kazillion videos stored on my phone. Yes, I know I need to just clean them out. But so time consuming….. I know I do not need to keep videos from training/competing 10 years ago with sadly now long gone dogs. Are there any other recourses than deleting and/or buying more icloud storage?
To be clear, I prefer YouTube for sharing videos with others. We use Vimeo only for our business videos because they are protected (they can only be watched here in the academy, they can’t be shared outside of our password protected site).
So I do move video from my phone (or icloud) to my desktop on a regular basis. I have 6 terabytes on my desktop and I’m about to need to more! We don’t delete anything. But then again, video is our business!
That’s a more complicated process, but I’m going to see if I can find some tutorials that others have done that I could direct you to.
Thanks so very much! Looking forward to another year with BDA. You guys keep adding so much great stuff! Love the new WUT!!!!!
Here’s an article for how to move things from icloud to your harddrive: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT209454
You’ll need a big hard drive! But then you can delete them from icloud knowing you have a copy on your computer.
And here’s an article about how to increase your storage: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201318
I think the paid storage is worth it for the time and effort saved and knowing you always have your photos and videos!
