I always feel overwhelmed when starting a new program!
But excited too! I do better with hands on. This will challenge me but that’s a good thing too! I got this!💪😁🐾🐾
Thank you! I’ve been competing in NADAC agility for 20 years and learning a whole new system of training is a bit overwhelming with where to start. Looking forward to diving in!
I also get overwhelmed when my dog wanders or shuts down because my poor handling skills confuse him. I am trying to learn to give him more treats and praise him more so he doesn’t feel so bad when I make a mistake.
Yes – exactly. They don’t know that you’re trying to figure out YOUR part. They just know you disconnected.
Transitions will help with this! https://baddogagility.com/episode-97-improving-your-transitions-during-training/
Thanks for the pledge. Sometimes I feel like I have a “stupid” question and I know how busy you are with all the peeps.
Makes me feel better…. thanks!!! Especially don’t suffer in silence….
No stupid questions! Use us! 🙂
I get overwhelmed when I dont know what I should be working on or how to split things to be able to teach things to my dog better.
Hi Krystal! Let us help you! That is what we are here for. Utilize our experience and we can guide you and help you to not feel so overwhelmed.
I get overwhelmed when my dog get frustrated and starts barking at me.
Barking on your dog’s part, especially in the middle of work, is usually a sign of their frustration. It’s worth taking a moment and asking if you are being clear in your handling. Or if you’re training a skill, have you broken the behavior down enough so your dog can be successful.
I have the same issue. Getting this help to cue my dog better does calm her down. We will get better! Hey we have the best helping us!
I DO tend to get overwhelmed, especially if I get behind!
Just think of it as impossible to get behind in the VIP. It’s self paced with a lot of information on different topics so you can pick what you’re most interested in or is most relevant to your dog.
I recall one of your podcasts on “fear of missing out”, not sure if I have that right for the acronym (fomo?) but that is ME, ha ha!
Yup! FOMO. 😉
HI Barbara! No video on this one! This is just a text “lesson” with the ability for you to Click the “I agree” button and make a commitment to yourself and us to get help when you need it!
My goal is to hopefully honour my pledge!
We’re here for you!
LOVE this pledge – especially the “never suffer in silence.” Nothing like a good pledge to help keep us engaged. 🙂
Hmmm…this is quite a challenge. Thanks.
You know we’re here for you Mary!
I like it!! count me as one of the guilty ones, but pledging to try and do better this time around!!
