Course Overview

In this video series, 2-time AKC National Agility Champion Sarah Baker, 2018,2019 16″ Westminster winner and reigning 16″ National Agility Champion Jennifer Crank, and 2016, 2017, 2018 AKC National Agility Championship Finalist Esteban Fernandezlopez are going to take you through their step-by-step approach for their runs at one of the biggest American dog agility events of the year—the 2019 American Kennel Club National Agility Championship, which takes place on March 15-17th, 2019.

As soon as the AKC posts the course map for a round, they will each analyze it for our own dogs, identifying traps and mapping out handling options in the Coach’s Eye—before they walk the course or watch anyone else run the course. Then, immediately after their runs, they will use the Coach’s Eye and take you through the critical handling details of the run, highlighting what went wrong and what went well with an emphasis on their cues, including position, motion, and timing. Every map and run analysis will be uploaded as quickly as possible so that you can follow the event in close to real-time!

Note: Jennifer Crank will choose one dog from each round for her post-run analysis.

Facebook Group

The Facebook Group is a great way to keep up with the event in real time.

This is a CLOSED group, that means that others will be able to see that you belong to the group, but will not be able to see the posts. To join the group, go to the Facebook Group (click here) and click “Join Group”. You will be asked for your academy username. We will verify your account and approve the request within 24 hours.

Videos

The videos will be posted starting March 15th! Each course under “Schedule of Events” will become a link to a separate page so that you can leave comments on a particular course.

Will we get an email or FB notification when you are getting ready or have just posted something?

    • Sarah Fernandezlopez says:

If you’re in the Facebook group, you can adjust your group settings to always be notified. Here in the Academy, I will send a periodic email letting you know what’s been posted. But not for every video since they’ll be going up throughout the day, 3 handlers, 3 videos each round, 2 rounds is 18 different video uploads.

Could you provide the name of the Facebook group? I am on an iPad and the link is trying to open Facebook in Safari rather than going to the Facebook app. I tried using BDA2019NACBeforeAndAfter but was told it could not be found.

Morning, Sarah. So excited to be part of this … just love the course analyses … I have a question:

Any chance you might include analyses for today’s (Friday’s) ISC course? I see that Gitchi and Hops are signed up to run (please forgive if I missed Jen’s dogs in the running order). It looks very tricky and like there are numerous places for considering different handling options. I would love to hear this course analyzed through the eyes of your experts … just putting that out there!

Good luck to everyone … and … have FUN!!!

Hi Sarah, Esteban, Jennifer & Sarah B. I just subscribed to this course and looking forward to all the excitement! However, I am not on FB after having my FB account hacked twice. Will I still be able to get all the info this course is providing without the FB connection?
BTW I loved loved loved the Gitchie (tired of BC’s video!) as my sis has a GR!
    Thanks!

    • Sarah Fernandezlopez says:

      Hi Barbara!

Everything will be posted right here in the Academy. Facebook is just a more convenient location for some folks, but absolutely not required.

You can check throughout the day to see new videos added. I send a few emails, especially end of day, but not usually in real time. As everything is a little chaotic!
