Difficult to “capture” the full course in order to print it.
Where it says “(see course map)” above, the “course map” is a link that takes you to the image itself:

You should be able to print that through your browser.
x4 Getting it now………..
Cool! Hopefully it will come quicker and quicker!
Another word problem. Jennifer, talking about # 16 “You have a ?? “is the word choice?”
Yes – a choice. At 16 the dog can either take 16 and turn right or take 16 and turn left.
Here’s a discussion on choices on course:
https://baddogagility.com/choice-analysis-2016-akc-nac-finals-jump-18/
https://baddogagility.com/episode-108-choices-on-course/
Interesting analysis of the two tunnel entry choices.. Sure like concept of “evidence based agility” of course other variables: dog and handler 🙂
Yes – I like to think of choices in two parts. Part 1: What should be empirically faster for the majority of teams. If I know NOTHING about you and your dog, which path do I think is faster.
Then you have to analyze if you have the skill to get the optimum path. You take into account your skills, your weaknesses, the traps, what’s on the line. Then you make a tactical decision.
Narrator word when discussing #3 “I change ??? ‘cantabalis” word used a few more times but just didn’t get it… (she talks pretty fast).
Barbara (again)
Change in concavity. Here Jennifer is describing how you change from one arc to another. Maybe this will clarify a little? If you’re math-inclined: http://mathonline.wikidot.com/concavity-and-inflection-points-of-a-function
Ah! Concavity ……….liked the brief lesson unlocking the mystery. I can hardly wait to use the term with my daughter (we practice together x1/week. Thanks.
You can also click the gear icon on the video and change the speed to 0.75 or 0.5.
Re: Clarification of my problen with not understanding walk through “communication system” featuring lots of green arrows.
Right Off the bat, #1to #2 I saw a pile of green arrows on what I think is # 2 ?winged jump but none of the arrows pointed to #3 but looked like there was on off course obstacle .. no now I guess that arrow is for #4, but it leads nowhere that shows on my screen so I backed up and just looked at # 5 and 5 dog walk to a big pile of arrows, (still wondering about the two green arrows from #4) Ok then across to dog walk and……….er and ?????????? On no no dogwalk and there is #7………. I won’t bore you with more. I imagine I will get the feel of it sooner or later. Don’t exactly see why the huge green arrows are desirable,, but maybe that will “come”to me too. Sorry, Hope to soon be able to ‘read’ the maps with ease and incorporate their information. Thanks in advance
Do you have the volume on? The drawings just support the verbal explanation.
The initial arrows just went through the dog’s path. The drawing of the arc 1,2,3 kindof does go through the number #2 cone, but it’s just meant to show the flow of the course (drawing with your finger is a bit imprecise!)
I was in the 2019 AGI and ran this course. I chose to handle with mostly blind crosses: 2-3, 6-7, 10-11. I also did the inside wrap at 16 with a step-in blind from 16-17. The choices worked pretty well for me except 2-3 where my dog went really wide after #2. She was so amped up she wasn’t giving me much of a start line stay so my timing was late, which led to the wide turn.
Here is the video of our run https://youtu.be/nvMMgjNJpWo
Feedback: https://youtu.be/2R9vZJJTw8E
And just reread your comments above. That’s basically exactly what I thought happened on 2-3.
I look a lot at angles and when you draw the line from 1-2-3 it is almost a 90 degree turn for the dog. That is a pretty significant turn for a large dog so a blind cross is hard there as a shoulder rotation away from the dog is a forward cue. I usually try not to BC on anything tighter than 135 degrees. I think a FC would have been a better bet there. Glad you were able to save it!
Printer issue: had to use horizontal setting
Glad you got it working!
No experience with “reading” a walk through so I got 0 out of it. Then on the course map itself (which I printed out and studied) I could not integrate the walk through. Do know, however 15-17 is very difficult for me.
Could you explain a little bit what didn’t make sense in the video? We’ll see if we can clarify!
