No way I could get that FC between 4-5. Maybe I didn’t have the set up correct. We were freezing!

I think with a few adjustments, you could have made the FC.

Here’s Jake’s attempt. I need to have my arm pinned down. 🙄🤦🏻♀️ https://youtu.be/vqXKw2Uyby8
You and that arm…hehe!
Keep an eye on those tunnel exits. On both Options 1 and 3 you lost a bunch of time with his path from the tunnel to jump #2. That is an easy place to save strides/time. And with an increase in short, straight tunnels on course, it is a challenge you might see more and more.

Here are my girls videos, I was pleasantly surprised with how they responded to the threadle cue…I thought for sure the backside route would be faster with both dogs.
Looking forward to your feedback, thanks!

Wow, your threadles were AWESOME here! Definitely better than the FC option.

Thank you!
I will definitely work some collection recalls in motion and submit video – I am realizing as I start foundations with my unexpected puppy that I never fully taught my GSPs this skill so we’ll break it down and try to work on it over Thanksgiving.
I have about a month break from trialing after this weekend so will be going back to the basics and working on several foundation things including threadles and collection recalls. Thanks for all your help!!
Excellent! I look forward to some videos. There are some great videos of students working though the added motion on the collection recall in the comments section of the Collection Recall section.
Here is Nina with the exercises. Looking forward to your feedback!

I think something to focus on from this module would be tunnel exits and how your motion at the entry to the tunnel effects how the dog exits. I felt Nina’s wide tunnel exits contributed to some of her mistakes.

Here’s our work on these exercises. in the small space, struggled a bit with the timing of the second FC in option 1. In contrast options 2 and 3 seemed much easier for me. Seemingly paradoxically, in the challenge sequence, the FC push options were easier for me to get than the threadles but we (meaning me!) worked at the threadles until we got the timing down.
When Sue Barnett was living full time in CT, we used to see her and her super Tollers at trials frequently. She judged for me a couple of times when I was chairing trials. Happy to hear she’s getting a chance to judge at Invitationals.
Looking forward to Truman and I taking on AKC Excellent for the first time this coming weekend.
Not overly surprising that you found the backsides easier on the challenge than the threadles. I would expect that to be the case with most.
