Seems like visualization can occur at three junctures; first when looking at the map, second when walking the course and thirdly before your turn to run. But the issue of memorizing the course must be integrated. That above all else must happen and frequently accounts for how I use my time. Maybe minor visualization while memorizing and then the visualization work?
Yes, of these three, the most important and biggest piece is the physical walk through of the entire course. This is the part that must be imprinted into your short term memory so it can be properly reviewed later.
A walk through is simply forced visualization, and it’s typically the only visualization almost every handler does. If you spend an equal amount of time AFTER the walk through on your visualization, you will improve greatly.
