Getting back to playing with these…here are our first attempts on each exercise so definitely some work to do but trying to run these as if they were competition/seminar courses to work on my mental game as well as our skills. Looking forward to your feedback, thanks for a fun sequence!

I should’ve looked at the numbered challenge sequence before I set it up. I did not have a line for Surf to run from 7-8 and the Aframe that I can’t move myself was just off camera, only I feet past the 7/9 jump. So I had to make up the ending.
Then I realized you probably wanted the 270 for good practice so I did a different ending.
I worked with what I had.

  • Barbara Lewis says:

Don’t know if this is right, just thoughts from my observation of your moving FC… by moving, even sideways you maintain “momentum” even if in steps 1 and 2 there is not a lot of forward motion you are NOT just flat footed. If Handler does FC in just one spot. It seems to me momentum counts a lot/is very important and there is no loss of energy for the remainder of the course, no “starting from a stop” which the dog could misinterpret too.

    • Sarah Fernandezlopez says:

Right – we don’t want to completely lose our momentum. We want to cover ground with our front cross and immediately think about what comes next. What comes next could be acceleration, deceleration, slight turn, etc. But we should be able to accommodate all those outcomes.

Hi! Here is our Nested Challenge Run. I have real trouble with backsides where Shiver is turning left, especially out of a tunnel. If I were clean up to this point in ISC, I might actually waste time and threadle to #5. I’m just not sure. 🙂 https://youtu.be/dWxQGYWsBB0

I enjoyed this challenge exercise. First, I ran it with the blind cross and barely made it around the winged jump with a 5 foot bar to push out to 3. The second run is how I probably would have run it in competition.

  • Natasha says:

I might’ve had this up wrong, as the blind for the straight line of jumps doesn’t seem very smooth. I also videoed how I would’ve chosen to run this if I saw it in a trial.

Here’s our first attempt. My push to jump 5 is late. Didn’t want to block the right wing to show the push. Also tried using close, close for the rear cross since it felt loopy. Forgot jump 9. https://youtu.be/mqg3Tvwxvrc
