Everyone is off having fun at NAC and I’m home in Southern California playing with my novice dogs LOL!!! Perhaps in a few years we’ll be back (here’s hoping for a West Coast NAC again!)

After a couple of tries at the Serp and Serp/Blind, Kimchi was having some trouble committing to jump 4 and was kind of sliding across the face of the jump… was I getting in his way or a commitment issue? I found myself having to babysit that jump so there was no way I was getting around the outside of jump 5 like in Ex. 1! We found the FCs and RCs much easier 🙂

Here is Roux, who is a little less experienced and tends to jump in extension so much so that he kept flanking jump #3 after the first try… I tried dropping the bars to 16″ and that seemed to help… He had a hard time reading the second RC but success in the end.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions.

These were fun. They all went pretty well, but I still struggle with good front cross footwork sometimes. He slows way down for the second rear cross which is typical for him if I stop moving so I wouldn’t run it that way but it was good to try.

I knew I would never try the #1 serp in competition but I tried it anyway. I thought the wrap would be easy because Surf usually wraps well. She didn’t read it as a wrap. I don’t know if she was patterned or if it was something I was doing,
After running the others the rear crosses felt slower and I felt like it wasn’t as clear for Surf. Surprise.
I put out the extra jump then an angled weave approach for extra practice. Sometimes sent to weaves, sometimes didn’t.

Here are Indy’s sequences! We had trouble with the wrap, and she kept slicing it the opposite direction or just not jumping at all/standing in front of it. We finally got it, and we even got the spin! 😉

Flash’s exercises. All on left worked better than I thought it would. I felt like I wasn’t moving enough on the rear cross option.

Oops, here’s my attempts – I linked the same video 2x the first time. I would probably choose the front cross. I had some extra coaching during these exercises trying Jaako’s and trying to use 2 hands for a wrap instead of just 1. I usually just use 1 hand on the wrap with Thumper based on feedback during a seminar that the 2nd hand seems to confuse him. I think I’m becoming even less confident on my wraps, instead of more confident. Also, my apologies for length of videos, I didn’t take the time to learn how to clip my videos before combining them. Thank you so much for your insight! This will be my last submission as I don’t have a place/time to train for the last 2 exercises. I appreciate all the help the Bad Dog team has provided.

Here’s our homework. Looking at the map, I thought fx after 3, and blind after 5, but I surprisingly liked all dog on left option. I guess it would depend how far the wing on 5 was in my way

Here is Casey Jones’ attempts at Week 4. I’m interested to know which you think is the better choice; I think Ex. 4 (reverse spin) felt better to me. https://youtu.be/Tyo0G_m8C2g

Tigger, serp also worked for her: https://youtu.be/IdqXzxGsFIQ
Thumper, I would not use the serp with him, front cross is more our style, was fun to try different options: https://youtu.be/IdqXzxGsFIQ

Here is my work with Zephyr.
Disclosure- didn’t have a lot of time, so I didn’t watch your videos on how to perfectly execute the sequence- I just read the headers.
I ended up with an extra- front/front. It’s what my body did instead of the front to blind the first try.
Other than that- I did everything only once!
The one thing I know I would fix is the turns on 3, particularly when I’m staying behind the line for the serps and wrap.
    Thanks so much!
