    Sarah-

    With your perch work, do you give a name to the circle for each direction? Do you work towards making these circles totally independent of your position or motion (i.e. on a verbal command)?

      I usually do not give a name to perch work, though sometimes some sort of keep going signal can help. I do work towards making the circles independent of my body position and motion, but my dogs mostly learn to keep going until I mark and reward vs it being on a verbal cue. It is just fine to put it on a verbal cue though.
