when calling skep skep back and forth in the xpen, did you use his name or a recall verbal?
At first, his name and a sound to get his attention. Only later did I add come.
Do you have a good resource on how to teach tug?
Sarah F. will be posting a great video of her work with Emma under the toy video in class. Here are some links I found with some good ideas:

The last link starts on toys at 1 min 25 sec.
Some tips:
If you have a dog that is not big on tug, keep the toy moving AWAY from the dog. If they do grab it, let them win (that is how I taught Rice to tug). Try different toys, try toys on ropes or toys like the flirt pole (then you can really make the toy move around like prey), try toys with food in them, try non toy items (brooms, feathers, pant legs, paper towel rolls, hoses, etc), play when your dog wants to play, use other dogs to create jealousy, be creative, but most of all have fun!
If you have a dog that loves to tug, you can add control in right away. I would wait for or cue a behavior you like before cuing the dog to tug, I would start to train a drop cue and I would have the criteria of no biting me.
OK thanks. I really appreciated the blog post on not stressing about teaching tug!
You are very welcome!
Did you introduce Skeptic to Dillon and Rice off leash in the yard? Or did you use leashes at all?
Off leash in the backyard yes. We knew there was no risk.
You mentioned Hops was not tolerant of the puppy behavior. Can you elaborate on how to slowly integrate a puppy with dogs that are not tolerant and may have a tendency to over-correct? Right now I am utilizing xpens, gates, leashes to manage pup & adults.
Have you watched the video in Mod 2, lesson 10? I do lots of classical conditioning, marking and rewarding when they look at the puppy. I am looking to condition happy feelings when the older dog looks at the puppy. Go slow. To prevent bad feelings from building I am very careful to not let the puppy push the older dog over threshold. Muzzle training Hops was one of the best things we have done. No one can get hurt and Hops is much, much, less reactive when wearing it. When Hops was a puppy, it worked like magic when we taught Dillon to touch Hops to get cookies.
Are the day long treats considered his meal?
Disregard. I found the answer further down the line Thanx!
Great!
