  • Pam&Shasta says:

when calling skep skep back and forth in the xpen, did you use his name or a recall verbal?

  • Collene says:

Do you have a good resource on how to teach tug?

  • lkiewiet@gmail.com says:

Did you introduce Skeptic to Dillon and Rice off leash in the yard? Or did you use leashes at all?

    • Sarah Baker says:

Off leash in the backyard yes. We knew there was no risk.

      • Jennifer says:

You mentioned Hops was not tolerant of the puppy behavior. Can you elaborate on how to slowly integrate a puppy with dogs that are not tolerant and may have a tendency to over-correct? Right now I am utilizing xpens, gates, leashes to manage pup & adults.

        • Sarah Baker says:

Have you watched the video in Mod 2, lesson 10? I do lots of classical conditioning, marking and rewarding when they look at the puppy. I am looking to condition happy feelings when the older dog looks at the puppy. Go slow. To prevent bad feelings from building I am very careful to not let the puppy push the older dog over threshold. Muzzle training Hops was one of the best things we have done. No one can get hurt and Hops is much, much, less reactive when wearing it. When Hops was a puppy, it worked like magic when we taught Dillon to touch Hops to get cookies.

  • Barbara Cordell says:

Are the day long treats considered his meal?
