Thanks for the explanation. It’s always been a head scratcher for me.
Thanks for this, I am trying to figure it all out on the assumption we will qualify for next year. Question: If you have three clean runs are you guaranteed a spot in finals or is there also a placement component?
They only take a certain percentage of entrants for finals. I had 3 clean runs in P12 in 2017. I think that was top 30 out of 100 or so Preferred12 dogs … but we were nowhere near finals. (Nationals was the last big stop on our retirement tour … )
It is 7pct. It depends on the class whether just getting 3 clean is enough. Occasionally there aren’t enough three clean dogs and someone gets in with faults. But USUALLY some of the lower finishing 3 clean dogs won’t make it.
