Sorry this seems like a silly question but how do you make them walk vs trot? 🤦♀️ 🙊 😅
The difference is speed. So part of it depends on is harder to go faster or harder to go slower? A leash is good for both. Increasing the connection to you means you can better use your speed to get what speed you want from the dog. If you are struggling getting them to go faster then increasing the motivation is important – a higher value reinforcer. It may also be the set up that makes it difficult. If the rails are too high or not the right distance trotting may be uncomfortable.
So hopefully not a dumb question but during the example you show, Is the part that is written below meaning 60 seconds “on” of trotting and 60 seconds “off” of rest and repeating that for 10 minutes… is that how I am to interpret that bullet point?
“60 seconds on, 60 seconds off trotting for 10 minutes”
Yes, you would up doing a total of 5 minutes trotting and 5 minutes rest.
