Can you please remind us what MET stands for and would it be possible to get a list of the different MET excercises? Thanks

    • Sarah Fernandezlopez says:

Here’s the info I got for you!

Muscle energy technique is what it stands for.
I can’t really give you a list of exercises though, as it could be literally applied to any movement type or muscle.

METs use a muscle’s own energy in the form of gentle isometric contractions, where the muscle is contracting without shortening or lengthening (think about what happens if you try to push a wall) to relax the muscles via autogenic or reciprocal inhibition and lengthen the muscle. It’s a way to gain extra range, without stretching.
Compared to static stretching which is a passive technique in which the practitioner does all the work, MET is an active technique in which the patient is also the active participant. MET is based on the concepts of Autogenic Inhibition and Reciprocal Inhibition

Just want to say that I’m really liking these workouts! They’re helping me lose my pandemic pounds and get back in shape. I especially like working out with someone who knows agility. Thanks!

Is my form wrong if I feel the “V” sits more in my hip flexors instead of my abs?
