I am looking into getting a fitbone. When I start this, should I start my dog with less time and work up?

    • Jennifer Crank says:

Absolutely! I could show you video where I tried to do a dog for 1 minute and it was very evident he wasn’t ready for it as he did not maintain good form and kept falling off the bone in his sit. I cut everything back to 30 seconds and worked back up to 1 minute. Just like lifting weights, proper form is more important than duration.

Thanks again for staying in touch with all of us. I may have to look into getting one of these peanuts for Buddy. I really enjoy and am using the training tips that you and your staff are providing!!! Thank you and stay well.

Hi Randy! I’m glad you are enjoying the lessons. We hope it gives everyone some ideas of things to train, but more importantly, a way to stay in touch with your agility buddies!

Big dogs, use peanut?? I usually have to hold peanut up against wall

    • Jennifer Crank says:

Sorry, I forgot to upload the text for this module so it should be added soon. For the down, try to use one single surface so yes, a peanut would work and holding it up against a wall is fine. Or you can make a PVC holder pretty easy. For the stand, best to you two separate pieces and bridge between the two so you can maintain proper posture. It can be hard to get proper posture on a single device as you can see in my demo video.
