Here are 3 attempts with Toby doing challenge #6 for comparison and feed-back and one of Sparky. I feel very clumsy trying the front cross before jump 3 with Toby. I did get a little better after multiple attempts. With Sparky (my Chihuahua), I welcome feedback and any ideas on how to speed him up. Thank you.

Sparky runs better at home than he does at a trial. Toby runs faster at trials than he does at home. Makes for tricky practicing.

Submitting the Challenge Sequence for review, with an attempt at a J-turn. Video also includes voiceover question. https://youtu.be/RyXDEe-pls8

Great timing on 6, both ways!
Question — why a bypass turn rather than a reverse spin (Jaakko) at 3?

    • Sarah Fernandezlopez says:

I think either should accomplish the same thing. I think the Jaakko is a little more difficult coming right after the FC. You’d have to immediately spin back the way you just were before the FC!

  • Denice says:

didn’t run Dixie as it was getting darker……
also didn’t run it exactly the way that you showed in the demo

    Hi Sarah,

I have a little game I have started to play with myself. When I see the map, I go through and come up with 2 or 3 ways to run the course and guess which one(s) you will present. In this case, I pretty much nailed the first one (FC’s with the threadle).
For some reason, my notes on how you ran the second time through indicated a landing side FC between 6 and 7. This is not a move that I would choose, so I thought it would be good to practice. When I returned from the barn, I realized that you had done a RC on #7. Rats! That is definitely my preferred move. Oh well, there are lots of ways to do the same thing.

    Thanks,
    Barb
