Our teeter experience isn’t progressing very quickly- Ellie seems scared of it. Does great with wobble boards but wants zero to do with teeter – even all the way down with very little bang.
Working on just tugging with her and playing nearby – even tossing a treat that direction / she will get treat and then run away as fast as she can.
Exposing her to the bag working her mama – she lays close by and watches – but nope – does not want to engage.
Odd as she’s not really sacred of much else…normally quite brave.
Suggestions?

One thing that I have done with dogs who are more concerned is to start by clicking and rewarding being near the teeter. Then investigating it in any way (sniffing it).
I would work up to where you can do other behaviors right next to it (like nose touches, etc), without ever looking at, or interacting with the teeter.
Once she can be in proximity, then I would sit down, and I will make the board go down and as it does, I click and treat. It’s kindof like saying “when the board goes down, you get a treat” even if the dog isn’t the one that made it go down.
Once she’s happily taking a treat from you right after it moves (she’s ok being in proximity, but she’s not yet interacting), then I will see if she tries to make it move herself.
If she even raises her paw, click and treat that. Our poodle would put her paw on it WITHOUT moving the board at all, and I would click and treat that. As she got more confortable, she would accidentally make the board move just a bit before yanking her paw back and I would JACKPOT those.
Try some of these things, and after a few sessions, send a video and I’ll make suggestions on how to make her more comfortable.
Thank you!!! Will try suggestions!
