How to Rear Cross on Angled Approaches |
|
Worked on 10 and 11 a bit – for space reasons I had to have the weaves at a different angle and I left them for 11. I am very interested to hear your thoughts on handling 2-3 in 10. After the discussion in the video I thought visually blocking the weaves might be the best but I thought he read the post turn a little better. I am also interested in hearing your thoughts on the wrap versus rear cross slice at 3 in 11.

I love the work you did, there’s some great side by sides in here: https://link.getonform.com/view?id=zEYHhHFuyMmQ45VytZ3E
Thank you so much for putting those side by side! The wrap in the opening wasn’t what I expected going into the exercise but definitely felt better when we were doing it and the rear to the weaves he did much better than I expected!
Y’all are doing great!
Worked this tonight
Last sequence was very hard for my young dog

Excellent work! Love the sequences you created from the set up. https://link.getonform.com/view?id=FvmQ25bwPwX6400dcPAS
Have no obstacle (double, triple, etc) for practice. Am willing to look into purchasing one…. which one will we most often see in a trial (many tires are terribly expensive Might be a R/O Thanks
I think a double might be more common, especially since there is no triple in USDAA, UKI, or international courses.
However, you CAN make a double by just using two regular jumps.
Tons of instructions on Youtube for DIY agility jumps. For $100 on etsy you can buy a nice tire jump (non-breakaway) https://www.etsy.com/listing/198601291, or you can make one very inexpensively… build a frame from 1″ or 1 1/4″ pvc pipe, two 90 degree elbows, two T fittings and four end caps. Then for $8.55, make the tire from https://www.homedepot.com/p/4-in-x-10-ft-Corrugated-HDPE-Drain-Pipe-Solid-with-Bell-End-4540010/100212428
You can trim the length to give you the proper tire diameter for your venue – AKC is 24″. If you put the joint at the bottom, you can add magnets or just loosely fit the ends together to allow the tire to breakaway. Add some colored vinyl tape and decorate it anyway you like.
