I’m doing this right now! Instead of scrolling social media I’m going through VIP courses on my lunch break. I’m going to start doing this more.
Back when I was still seeing patients in hospitals, I’d use 5-15 minutes here and there to watch agility videos or review course maps. I didn’t get as much training time with the dog on course but I still did a lot of agility!
If only the internet worked in the auditorium of my son’s school. Kidding, maybe not kidding. Ear buds are a great invention. LOL
On a serious note, agility trials have a lot of dead time. This is an excellent time to listen/watch podcasts & training videos.
I agree! Phones and ipads are very helpful with dead time, but instead of scrolling, use some of that time for agility!
One thing I missed during Covid was the dead time in my car traveling for work or trials and listening to your podcast! I struggle to really engage with podcasts when I listen anywhere else!
And at airports and on airplanes! Some of my best time to think, plan, and strategize…
I am the exact same way – my listening time has gone down to dishes and laundry.
I listen to the BAD podcasts and CogDog podcasts while mowing the yard. A good 1 1/2 hour use of time!
Perfect! Plus then I bet you don’t notice when our dog’s bark on the podcast 😉
Can I down load pod casts on my tablet to
listen in the car?
Yes, you can! Also to your phone as well. For iPhones, there is a podcast app, but Sarah created a Bad Dog Agility Podcast app, I think you can go to the app store and get it there for free, just search for “bad dog agility”. Once you have it, download it whenever you have access to wi-fi so you don’t have to pay for cellular data charges on the road.
Here is a link to the app for the podcast: https://baddogagility.com/app/
This is for the public podcast that we release here: https://baddogagility.com/category/podcast/
If you’re asking about the VIP materials, those do not have a download option. They are largely video (rather than audio).
I’d like to have some kind of mobile app to plan my training, as it would be easy for me, for example in a coffee break at work, to plan the afternoons agility training, but I need someplace to put down my thoughts, plans and so on. Do anyone know of such an app for android?
I don’t have any specific recommendations. I tend to just use the “notes” app to create an outline or document. Maybe others will have ideas. You might also ask in the FB group.
Good idea but things like podcasts or videos of agility runs require a bit of fore-planning.
I highly recommend the podcast app for the BDA podcast: https://baddogagility.com/app/
I would also bookmark the Academy site to watch videos on your mobile device.
Love this reminder. A great way to spend dead time in a doctor’s waiting room to keep from getting upset over something you can’t control.
