Sarah,
For the backing up challenge, am I supposed to stand still or can I lure my dog?
TY!
Oops, I went back & read the instructions again. 🙂
😀
My dog has a natural striding that has always allowed her to have a perfect running contact, so I never actually trained anything except the teeter. (I know you are all very jealous. Lol)
Because it was the only thing I trained, I submitted 5 reps of her doing the teeter with her end criteria. But after reading one of the comments above, I wondered if that was OK… is it too similar to the bang game?
That’s totally fine! And I LOVED watching KitKat get her nails done! <3
We only submit a video for 1.2 and 1.3? Since there is only one input for “Link to Video” do we need to merge these two videos into one?
Ideally yes as it will be easier for us to review. You can also submit multiple times.
Not really sure about 1.3 = timing. We do 2o/2o, and my release is usually pretty slow. Does that matter?
Stop the timer once your dog is “set”. But this we mean, not when the first foot hits, or when the second foot hits. But once they’ve stopped their motion forward. There’s a moment of settling when you know the dog is not going to just stride through.
IF you are running the DW and A-frame, then the teeter is the only contact with “end behaviors” which make sense to do 5 in a minute. How will that be different from the Bang Game?
Oh – Thanks for the reminder – I do have a video with a running contacts variation.
The tugging challenge and contacts challenge seem to be all mixed up together. I didn’t realize we had a contacts challenge until I was trying to see the Facebook group for tugging. ??
Yup! We are going to run THREE concurrent challenges. Tugging was the first one I had ready and posted to FB. The other two are going to be contacts and weaves.
At some point in the last few days I received an e-mail talking about the new challenges. That was REALLY helpful, since I am not reliably on FB or BDA or anything these days.
