Hi Leslie,
Here is our first session with Box jumping. What is the maximum height we should aim for or guidelines for what height range to stay within?

Awesome!

Hi Leslie – here is our first attempt at box jumps. I guess we took the term “box jumps” literally….as you can see, I built a raised platform with boxes (filled with shotgun shells and VERY heavy).
Let us know if we should change anything with our routine!

Love it!

Thanks for your feedback…..Karma loves this exercise! Glad you like the set up, it measures 14″ and she jumps 16″……….at first when I was setting it up I tried just 2 stacks of boxes but that was waaaay too easy, so I think the 3 box stack is perfect and we’ll work on the 3 sets of 5 and see how she does………….thanks!
Awesome!
Here’s Jake’s attempt. https://youtu.be/BXTPLi1NAUI
Really nice!

TY Leslie!
You’re welcome!
Here’s our first attempt at box jumps. His back legs are getting much stronger but not sure we are actually doing this properly https://youtu.be/uitfwKiOXbU
This is a great start.

Thanks, Leslie. Love your analysis – it is so helpful. I was concerned that he might just be pushing off one leg but the slow mo jump looked good. I’ll video from the other side next time. Will do these exercises regularly once or twice a week keeping the reps down.
Perfect!
Hello! We tried box jumps with a peanut because I couldn’t find another good option. Do you think this will work? https://youtu.be/k8WmTnFz0rw
Looking good! I think we can go harder!

First try at Box Jumps. It was hard to get them to understand to sit before jumping on. I think I need a real box instead of the table. I don’t think I can add instability with the table.

They are both excited to get on the table. You could try using a stabilized peanut instead. See Cindy and Force’s video as an example of that.

Thank you! I am seeing so much improvement just in general with Force, his posture body strength etc. He was already really strong but I think the improvement in his form and posture is amazing!
That makes me so happy to hear!
We tried it from both sides. I think the set up worked well, thanks for the tip to use the platform on the ground for sitting.

Your comments in the videos made me laugh. Yes she’s super keen to work and is quite the goofball at times. She’s a super happy dog that loves all things around training and agility. Thanks for all your help!
I love her!
And you’re welcome!

I like the higher height.

Thank you so much for the feedback. Always enjoy hearing your perspective. I am really loving the course and learning lots of good stuff!
You’re welcome!
Hmmmmm, this has me thinking what I would use as “the box”……..but today while we were on a bed, working on the reverse bow, I thought why not use the bed, making sure the jumping is done close to the bed and from a full sit and then using the 3 steps for her to come down that we place at the bottom of the bed so none of our dogs have to jump down. The bed is not a huge high-rise! Thoughts????
You could try both. I would start with the lower one. If that looks really easy then try the higher one.
