Hi Leslie, Sandy & Karma here! Hope you are having a good summer! You may have wondered why all of a sudden I stopped posting any videos or asking for feedback. Just as I got signed on to the new VIP year (which of course included the fitness component), I was preparing to starting in May with the new workouts and life “got in the way” so to speak! My 93 year old mom was very ill and passed, only 6 mths after my 93 year old dad passed………..things have been crazy and difficult (and sad) ever since. I now realize it’s August, yikes, and we are FINALLY at a point where we could begin the workout program! Of course I am feeling overwhelmed with how do I ever catch up, ugh! I know we had a decent grasp on “most” of the exercise last year, but we obviously cannot truly catch up from May to August in a single month.

What do you suggest?????? I looked at the May workout sample but I did not see it as a pdf file, so I just did a screen shot and printed it out. Can you get me pointed in the right direction with all of this???? We have continued along the way with hikes, swimming, some agility trials, FCAT and this summer embarked on dock diving…………..and you say, so if I did all that, why couldn’t we do the workouts, ha! It just felt like too much to begin a “new program”…..sigh, now we are behind. HELP!!!!!

    • Coach Leslie says:

I’m so sorry for all you’ve been through. I’m glad you are ready to dive back into things. The workouts go in 6-8 week blocks and August started a new block so you can jump right in to August and save the other 3 months for a rainy day. You can substitute same category workouts as well. So if you don’t like the flexibility work out from August but the June one looks fun, do the June one instead. Injury Prevention is really the only category that hasn’t changed much except for time. If you feel the current recommended time is too much, try cutting it in half.
I think Karma’s got this and if you need modifications, that’s what I’m here for!

Ok makes perfect sense, we just need to start and stop worrying about the “what if’s”. Thanks for your advice! Cannot wait to start. It has been so ungodly hot here this summer, that Karma will no doubt enjoy doing some indoor fitness instead of sweltering out in the yard!

I can’t find any info on the ‘hip activation” and “shoulder activation” part of paws up and paws down. Can you clarify? thanks

I’m guessing this is a question for Sarah, it’s a search question. I’m trying to figure out what “good mornings” are for the warmup but when I use the search feature nothing comes up. Is there a better place to search for the exercises than the little magnifying glass on the site? Wasn’t there a list of exercises taught last year somewhere? Thank you in advance!

  • Kayla Swanberg says:

Thank you, I’m so excited for the changes you’ve made to the fitness for the year! Looking forward to getting back on a work out schedule and keeping my girls in great shape! Really appreciate you showing the exercises and the real life things that happen during them (one of mine is the queen of knocking over the cones lol). Will be starting to work on these this week!

  • Judy says:

Hi Leslie, In your Inro to Workouts video you said there would be a pdf of the workouts for each month. Can you direct me to the May workouts pdf, please? I can only find a screen shot that I can’t print. So looking forward to trying these with Jamie.
    Thanks, Judy

Another question. My puppy (Toller) is 14 months and 19.5 at the withers and 42 lbs. When should I think that his growth plates ate closed and I can begin jumping him at full height. I am currently using 12 inches.

I am looking for the documentation on jump offering for this months exercise. Could you please direct me? Thank you.
