Short Sequence Exercises

Exercises 1-2

Exercises 1-2

These exercises are based on a Linda Robertson AKC Premier Standard course. One of the features of Premier is that judges can use a bi-directional obstacle. This means that the handler is free to take the obstacle (in this case a jump) in either direction. This adds an element of strategy to the run.

Exercise 1: Take the Front of #2

Exercise 2: Take the Back of #2 with Front Cross

Exercise 3: Take the Back of #2 with Rear Cross

Thank you for this Bonus SS. I think Exercise 2 worked best for us with good commitment to the backside jump.

The challenge sequence had no issues besides using the wrong verbal.

On the Extra Challenge exercise, I had to work on timing jumps7-8 and maintaining eye contact since Mimi almost read it like a blind cross.
The alternate handling option was really tricky on timing the blind cross pass the off course jump.

Thank you for any feedback. https://youtu.be/kKfZUwRnzPg?feature=shared

This is Delta’s very first small space submission! I spent most of the training practice trying to figure out how to stay ahead of him, so that’s going to be interesting. We have just started working on backsides so I had to handle those more than I would have liked. I am super happy with his rear cross and I think his deceleration is improving (we have been working on the accel/decel module that you and i had emailed about). No challenge exercises for him right now as I’m trying to keep things somewhat simple for his little brain 😅
